Howdy!  Interesting subject line, eh?  Over the course of 9 years in Jackson many discussions with guests centered on what defines a bed and breakfast.  Technically and historically a bed and breakfast has 4 or less rooms, was a home originally and innkeepers reside in the same house.  Grand Victorian Lodge has 11 rooms, was never a home originally and innkeepers do not reside in the Lodge BUT we have operated the Lodge as a bed and breakfast.   This year we still offer a complimentary breakfast but the breakfast concept has changed to accommodate the changing needs of our guests.   As previously posted we listed the time change as well as the food items are varied and expanded giving our guests options to pick and choose what they wish to enjoy.   

Please note for May and October breakfast is continental which is :  coffee, tea and orange juice, yogurt parfaits or smoothies and scrambled eggs with toast. 

For June through September is European expanded breakfast which is:  coffee, tea, orange juice, hand made parfaits or smoothies, fresh fruit, sliced cheese or cold cut, hard boiled eggs, croissants, whole wheat bread, granola, bakery offerings and hot item.   We will continue to offer gluten free bread upon request. 

I hope this is clear and appealing to you giving you more options than in recent years.   Our desire is to adapt to our guest’s needs promoting the best experience possible while visiting us at Grand Victorian Lodge in the town of Jackson Hole!

Howdy!!   Yellowstone and Teton Parks are removing snow for May 10 opening.  Another wonderful season is around the corner!  We will be reopening our Inn on May 1 so if you want to getaway for one of our lowest rates available come and visit before the crowds start in June.  We have a May Special of 10% off two or more nights so call us to book and mention the above special. 

We will be offering a new breakfast concept this year that provides variety, flexible times to accommodate those who need to leave early and those who wish to sleep in.  Breakfast will be offered from 7-9 am and consist of the following:   croissants, fresh fruit, handmade yogurt parfaits or smoothies, whole wheat toast, hot item, hard boiled eggs, sliced cheese or cold cuts, granola and bakery.   We will continue to provide gluten free bread as requested.  Oh, and good coffee, tea and orange juice as usual.  Trays will be provided if you wish to take your breakfast to your in room breakfast table or perhaps the lobby or even front or back porch to soak  in the morning sun.  We will continue to offer a breakfast to go for anyone who needs to leave before 7 am.

It is 56 degrees and sunny today in Jackson Hole!  Wish you were here?  Snow is melting quickly and thoughts of spring than summer occur naturally.  Calls and online bookings are coming in faster so others are thinking of the upcoming seasons as well.  With Grand Teton Park just 20 minutes north and Yellowstone Park one and half hours north staying in the town of Jackson accomplishes not only the parks but the historic town of Jackson Hole as well.  I anticipate the viewing of wildlife offspring like bison babies called “red dogs”, bear cubs, elk foes and moose cubs. 

Just because our name is Grand Victorian Lodge don’t let that fool you that we are a large chain hotel.  We are an eleven room bed and breakfast which is also a small boutique hotel.  We have classy decorations, spacious rooms, airy porches to breathe in the fresh mountain air, homemade breakfasts and cookies, homey atmosphere conducive to feeling right at home and opportunity to meet new friends or if desired you can hang out in your private room with bath.  Our uniquely decorated individual rooms allows for your choice of what appeals to you and your needs the most.

Good Morning……..a beautiful sunny and 30 degree day here in Jackson Hole!  We just returned from a 2 and half month trip driving across country to visit family and friends in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida.  It was awesome to spend time with everyone but we were more than ready to return to the comforts of home!! 

We are gearing up to open our Inn on May 1 and are receiving increase in reservations for the spring, summer and fall season!  Do hope you will come to visit us here in the town of Jackson where you can walk easily to the best restaurants, shopping and the historic town square.  Teton Park and Yellowstone Parks will be opening up mid May so catch those wildlife early if you can get away!

After traveling 20 states we have a beautiful country but it made us appreciate the incredible created scenery that lies in Jackson Hole, Teton Park and Yellowstone Park.  We are so blessed to live here!  Perhaps that is why so many people across the world return to this area time and again

To those guests who stayed with us this past week and knew of the arrival of our grandson on Oct. 3 at 11:13 pm.    His name officially is KEAGAN EARL LAMPPA …..his stats were 7 lbs. 4 oz and 21 inches long.  Darling baby boy, but of course!!   That makes three grandchildren for my son Todd and his wife Jennifer who live here in Jackson.  Brad and I are so blessed and fortunate to have our grandchildren so close by.   

October special has increased our business tremendously with 50% reduction in rates.  Please remember that the continental breakfast consists of hard boiled eggs, assorted muffins, cold/hot cereal, orange juice and coffee.   If you desire a hot full breakfast we would be happy to recommend a restaurant for you.
