Weather has warmed up with some spring showers.  Our guest enjoyed a luscious sausage, spinach and mushroom quiche yesterday prepared by daughter in law, Alice, and today she prepared delicious french toast.  Our guests not only enjoy the homemade breakfasts before they start their day but have been seeing lots of wildlife in the Teton and Yellowstone parks like grizzily bears, elk, bison, black bears, coyote and moose.  This is a great time of the year to view the wildlife as they roam with their young ones.   Just visited with some guests from Connecticut and Minnesota.   Guests come from all over, this morning guests from Great Britian left after staying three days.  They had a wonderful time hiking and seeing sights.   Hope to meet you soon………check our specials……your host,  Nancy

Preparing for You

Hi Friends………Temperatures are rising, reservations are increasing, feels more like spring today…….close to 60’s and sunny.  Had some nice guests from Montana this past weekend, served them ten grain pancakes flavored with fresh bananas topped with sweetened strawberries.  Very tasty!!  One of our guests typically doesn’t  eat breakfast but she ate everything.   Another item that we started last summer and because of popularity we are continuing again this year……our yogurt parfaits!!  Am I making your mouth water?   We will also continue to make homemade cookies which will be waiting for you from 3 to 9 pm when you checkin.   A bed amd breakfast is such a wonderful experience.

Do remember that we are located perfectly in the historic town of Jackson with easy walking to shopping, famous town square, and best area restaurants not to mention 20 minutes to the entrance of Grand Teton Park and hour and a half to entrance of Yellowstone Park.    Flying in to Jackson Hole places you just 10 minutes to our beautiful Inn.

Have a great sunny day and hope to see you soon……….Your Grand Victorian Hosts………Nancy and Sons

It’s Springtime?!!

A blend of snow and sunshine with temperature’s varying from 18 to 50 degrees causes one to wonder if it is truly springtime but honestly we need the moisture after a three month dry spell.   We are busy with spring projects preparing for our special guests which would be you……..  My oldest son, Dean, and his wife Alice will be helping me this summer/fall.  Alice will be cooking your unique breakfasts while Dean will be serving and assisting in management.  My other son, Todd, has helped in the past as previous posts have indicated.   What joy to have family work together and for our guests to appreciate the special attention and hospitality given by a family run bed and breakfast.

We are so excited about the summer season and the new friends we will meet.    You will love the close proximity to the downtown area where shops, best restaurants and famous town square are located.     Since we are on the north end of Jackson we are a straight shot to the airport and Grand Teton and Yellowstone Parks.

Have a great day everyone and hope to see you in 2010………:)               Your host………Nancy

Travelers are making their plans to visit Jackson Hole and the parks this summer so if you are thinking about it,  early reservations will stand a better chance of selecting a room of your choice.    All of the family has been busy preparing for the summer season painting the rooms, etc.  We so enjoy improving our inn to meet your expectations of a well maintained house.   Fair amount of winter travelers have been enjoying the wonderful snow on the slopes, snowmobile tours in the parks, and dog sled tours to granite springs.  We are anticipating the spring when the wildlife babies are born and wild flowers bloom.  It is so spectacular!!   I look forward to our guests arrival this summer meeting some new friends and seeing the repeat guests who have become wonderful supportive friends which is why I love this type of business.   I do hope you will come to see us this year not to mention meeting people all over the world………See you soon.    NANCY

Its Snowing!!!!!
Its Snowing!!!!!

One of the sons, Dean, is pictured shoveling freshly fallen snow with more forecasted to come………  so skiiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers come on out to Jackson Hole !!!  One of our guests staying with us at the bed and breakfast is enjoying the horse drawn sleigh ride on the elk refuge plus some skiing and a trip to Yellowstone today.  They are from Texas and have stayed with us before.  Our cook made a wonderful sour cream chocolate chip coffeecake and the guests loved it.  Honeymooners are frequent guests over the years, and we have had newlyweds staying at the Grand Victorian Lodge this winter with more this spring.  Advanced summer reservations are coming in daily so if you are thinking about staying with us, I recommend deciding as soon as you can.  We look forward to helping you make a memorable visit.    Take care, see you soon, Nancy and sons, Dean and Todd

Winter at the Grand Victorian Lodge, Jackson WY

Skiing at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

The weather has been sunny the last couple of days, so I decided to head out to Teton Village to ski the groomers at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  Great times skiing with my buddy Dan Tolson (pictured).  After this photo was taken, we went down to check out what remained of the avalanche that had recently taken the life of a local ski patroller.  He was well liked and will be missed by many in our community.

At the Grand Victorian Lodge, we are having a great time accomodating all of our winter guests.  In fact, we just had some honeymooners stay with us from Casper, WY.   For those who have never stayed with us before, the lodge is in a prime location in the historic district of downtown Jackson, making it easy to get to all of the nightlife and entertainment that Jackson has to offer.  It is ideal to be able to stay right in town after a long day of winter activity.

Many great events are scheduled for the Jackson Hole area this winter, and we hope you will make your reservations at the Grand Victorian Lodge when you head this way.  Have a great day!

It is a beautiful day here at the Grand Victorian Lodge in Jackson Wyoming.  Holiday cookies are being made and the Christmas decorations are being put up as I write this blog.  We are anticipating a wonderful time with our guests here at the Bed and Breakfast over the Holidays and hope that visitors will consider staying with us during their time in Jackson.  The town square is all lit up and we are only a few blocks away.  Check out our reduce rates for the Christmas week.

Fall has arrived in Jackson Hole

The weather is turning and the temps are dipping here at the Grand Victorian Lodge.  The Tetons have a blanket of snow on them already, but the temps here in the valley are in the 50s.  Such a beautiful time of the year to be in Jackson Hole.  I just came in from rakingraking leaves some of the leaves that have fallen during the last few weeks.  Since the Bed and Breakfast is closed until November 20, 2009 for the “off-season”, it makes for an excellent opportunity to get outdoors and to get some projects done.  Nancy has revamped the rates on the new website and has come up with a unique 12% discount for the winter.  In response to our struggling economy and to help our guests, she has generously reduced the cost of staying at the Inn.   Nancy and I are both anticipating a wonderful winter season here at the Grand Victorian Lodge and look forward to meeting and hosting our guests.

Thanks for visiting the website, feel free to leave us a comment.  Hope you will stay with us soon.
